The Options GUI allows you to set various CHKDSK Assist options.

Startup Countdown – The Startup Countdown is the amount of time CHKDSK gives you to press any key to skip the CHKDSK operation. This only applies to CHKDSK operations that run on the start (or restart) of your PC.
- Windows Default (10 Seconds) (Alt+W) – Sets the CHKDSK startup countdown to the Windows Default setting of 10 seconds.
- Disable (No Delay) (Alt+D) – Disables the CHKDSK startup countdown so the CHKDSK operation runs immediately.
- Custom (Alt+T) – Sets the CHKDSK startup countdown to a Custom value between 1 and 9 seconds.
Script Mode
- Standard (Alt+S) – The default mode for CHKDSK Assist. Recommended for most users.
- Advanced (Alt+V) – Disables many Informational and Warning messages. Also most status messages are displayed within the GUI rather than through dialog boxes. GUI based status messages that require user input (usually a Yes/No) use the keyboard to enable faster operation. Recommended for experienced users only.
- Remember This Setting (Alt+R) – Saves the Standard/Advanced Mode selection so the next time you run CHKDSK Assist the saved mode is invoked. Check the box to remember the setting, uncheck the box to forget the setting. The setting is stored in the registry, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\TR Tools\CHKDSK Assist.
Log File Cleanup
- Delete CHKDSK log on Exit (Alt+L) – Allows CHKDSK Assist to delete the chkdsk.log file when the script is exited. NOTE: This does not apply in instances when the PC is restarted by CHKDSK Assist to run a CHKDSK operation.
Other Commands
- Set to Defaults (Alt+E) – Sets all options in the Options GUI back to their default settings.
- Apply Changes (Alt+A) – Applies your changes. The button will only activate if you have changes to apply.
- Close (Alt+C) – Goes back to the Main GUI. If you have unapplied changes, you will receive a warning prompt.
